Juried Spring Craft Show
WHEN: Annually - usually the last weekend in March or early April
Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25, 2012 (10th annual)
Saturday 9AM to 5PM, Sunday 10AM to 4PM
WHERE: Kutztown University, Main Campus, Keystone Hall,
Corner of Trexler Avenue (South Campus Drive) and Baldy Streets,
Kutztown PA (Berks County Pennsylvania.)
DESCRIPTION: The Reading-Berks Chapter, the largest in the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, will
hold its 9th Annual Juried Spring Fine Arts and Craft Festival in Keystone Hall, Kutztown University, Kutztown,
Pa., on Saturday, March 26 (9AM to 5PM) and Sunday, March 27, 2011 (10AM to 4PM.)
The highly popular Mid-Atlantic Craft Show is presented in partnership with the Pennsylvania German
Scholarship Studies, the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center in Kutztown and the university, whose art
students also will exhibit their work at the show.
Visitors will be able to see and purchase a diverse selection of quality handcrafted traditional
and contemporary work created by craftsmen who are nationally and internationally known. Guild member exhibits and
demonstrations will cover traditional wood turning, shaker boxes, braided and penny rugs, scherenschnitte paper
cuttings, folk art, theorem painting, calligraphy, basketry, tinsmithing, redware, block printing, quilting and
weaving. Also at the show will be contemporary ceramics, glass, jewelry, dried florals, wearable art, photography
and fine artwork produced by the Guild’s juried master craftsmen and fine artisans.
Cathy Pennypacker will be available for antique appraisals - only $5 per item.
Proceeds benefit the Guild Scholarship Fund.
The show includes live music and refreshments in a special cafe seating area. There is a raffle and
hourly door prizes. Ample parking with handicapped accessible areas is available and. The show is wheelchair
accessible.
The donation for admission is $4. Children under 12 are free. A portion of the proceeds helps fund
the Guild’s educational programs.
