The Middletown FairHistorical Arts & Craft Fair
WHERE: Hoffer Park, along the Swatara Creek, DESCRIPTION: The Middletown Area Historical Society is proud to announce Middletown's Annual Fair. As in the past, the fair will be held along the Swatara Creek in Hoffer Park. This is within walking distance from the train station or simply follow the signs from the town square at the intersection of State Routes 441 and 230. The fair is open from 10-6 on Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. Admission and entertainment are free. Special events for the weekend include displays and demonstrations, along with free children's activities including games, pony rides, and cake walks. Also included is free entertainment including Rebel Heart Irish Dancing (Sunday), the Keystone Concert Band (Saturday), the Car and Motorcycle Show (Sunday), and more. Some of the homemade crafts available for sale will be blacksmithing, broommaking, basketry, woodworking, doll making, soap, metal working, jewelry, leather, stoneware, leaded glass, spinning, furniture, toys, quilting, painting, photography, and others. There are a large variety of food stands operated by local organizations and churches. Food items include funnel cakes, hamburgers, roast pork, chicken, hot dogs, baked potatoes, snow cones, sausage, root beer floats, lemonade, fresh fruit, ice cream with strawberries, penny candy, fresh roasted nuts, dill pickles, soup, and many others.
