Vandergrift Fine Arts Festival

DESCRIPTION: The Annual Vandergrift Fine Arts Festival will feature regional artists exhibiting
their works in booths along Grant Avenue, children's activities, food, live music, and wine tasting.
Artists are invited to display and sell their work at the Annual Vandergrift Fine Arts Festival in
2012! This festival celebrates arts and the community with a one-day juried art exhibition, painted palette
display, and the Chalk Walk Competition. Groups of three students each from Southwestern Pennsylvania high schools
will be given an 8 ft. x 10 ft. space within which to create sidewalk chalk masterpieces according to this year's
festival theme, Rolling Hills to Winding Streets. The Chalk Walk Competition will begin at noon and students will
have until 4PM to complete their murals, at which point a panel of three professional artists will judge them.
There will also be a People's Choice Award.
The Vandergrift Fine Arts Festival is sponsored by the Vandergrift Improvement Program and is
supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the arts, a federal agency.
